SteelPhrase

Self-custody, verified.

Tools

Four tools. All of them run entirely in your browser, send nothing anywhere, and store nothing.

None of them will ever ask you for a recovery phrase, private key or passphrase — not even with a promise that it stays on your device. That rule rules out some genuinely useful tools, and it is the intended cost: normalising the habit of typing a seed phrase into a web page is what every serious theft in this field depends on.

Custody Risk Scorecard

Ten questions about how you actually hold your crypto, then the specific gaps you have, ordered by how likely each is to cost you everything. There is deliberately no score — a number would let you average away a fatal problem with a lot of small wins, and custody does not work that way.

Hardware Wallet Chooser

Six questions, then one recommendation with the reasoning shown and the case against it stated plainly. One of the possible answers is buy nothing yet, which is a real outcome rather than a disclaimer — if you hold a few hundred dollars, a device is a poor use of the money.

Inheritance Plan Worksheet

Builds the printable document your heirs would need — the map, not the keys. It records what exists and where to look, so it is safe to store somewhere findable. If you paste something that looks like a recovery phrase into it, it stops and tells you to clear the field.

Post-Quantum Readiness Scorecard

Six chains scored on what would actually stand against a quantum computer, rather than what is marketed. Includes Ozone Chain, which this site’s author has a declared conflict of interest in, scored at the strictest reading of its own claims.

What is deliberately missing

You will not find a seed phrase validator, a balance checker, a phrase generator or a “verify your backup” tool here. All four are technically easy and all four are refused, because the safe version still teaches the behaviour that gets people robbed elsewhere.

If you want to check that a backup works, restore it onto a device you control. That is the only test that proves anything, and it involves no website at all.
